Orby Jean Kimbrough
<p>Orby Jean Hill Kimbrough, 88, passed away at Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Born December 18, 1934, in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late James Orby Hill and the late Marie Fleming Hill. She was a member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church, and was a 1953 graduate of Derma High School. After graduating from High School, she attended DePaul Nursing School in Louisiana, graduating in 1956. Orby Jean had a true servant’s heart, and was a nurse for over 50 years, with 35 of those years being with the hospital in Calhoun City. On September 14, 1962, she married Rubert Ovid Kimbrough, and they were married for 52 years before his passing in 2014. She loved family get-togethers and holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed fishing and traveling, and loved listening to the music of Tom Jones and the BeeGee’s. A very kind and caring woman, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her memory will be cherished forever in their hearts.</p><p>Pryor Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kimbrough family. </p><p>A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be Visitation on Wednesday from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Chad Logan will be officiating, with interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. </p><p>Serving as pallbearers will be Zack Kimbrough, Jerre York, Keith Cobb, Jamie Hill, Billy Jack Stewart, and Kristian Bryant.</p><p>She leaves behind her daughter, Jeanna Frye and her husband Boyce of Columbus; sons, Tony Kimbrough of Calhoun City, and Joey Kimbrough and his wife Angela of Calhoun City; sister, Dorothy Cobb of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Alex Kimbrough of Calhoun City, Justin (Brooke) Frye of Charlotte, NC, Zack (Lexi) Kimbrough of New Albany, and Joanna Frye of Kansas City, MO.
