<p>LINCOLN, Dana Earl Doane, 66, passed away early Saturday morning, July 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Dana was born May 29, 1957, to the late Lewis Sr. &amp; Dorothy (Thompson) Doane.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana was raised in Kingman where he played little league baseball for many years. He loved to go fishing and hunting while growing up. He mowed lawns for a lot of the elderly residents and loved listening to their stories.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana graduated from Lee Academy in 1975 and went to work at Fosters Manufacturing in Mattawamkeag for a short time before going to work at Lincoln Paper + Tissue, where he worked for 42 years, making many long-lasting friends. After Dana’s retirement he worked for himself doing carpentry jobs and he also worked for Bill Ireland at Cal’s Septic.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana was a big NASCAR fan since his teenage years, going to many different racetracks. He raced at Speedway 95 with his brother-in-law Bobby Coburn in the “General Lee”. Dana loved to play horseshoes, he was in a bowling league in Lincoln, he loved to play poker and cribbage and going to Bingo, especially with his mom. Dana had a green thumb and grew some beautiful flowers. He loved fireworks, especially the loud ones! Dana also loved his hunting camp and spent many hours and days there planting apple trees and spending many nights there during hunting season with Bill and Hoss.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana is survived by his fiancé Ellie Hanscom, son Ben, daughter Angela, daughter Rae-Lynn (Robin) Crawford, Papa’s special girls Adlyr and Aldyn. Sisters Brenda and Donald Pratt, Loretta and Dana Hersom, who was his best friend since childhood, many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, and his precious dog “Babe”. He is also survived by his best friends Rob Sibly, Rodney and Terry Worster, Billy Ireland and many, many more.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana was predeceased by his father Lewis Sr., his mother Dorothy, brothers Neal and Luke, and a special daughter Nikki.</p><p><br></p><p>Dana will be in our hearts always and forever.</p><p><br></p><p>Per Dana’s wishes there will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held in The Kingman Cemetery on Saturday July 29, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Reggie Adams officiating.
