Joseph “Joe” Earl McKague, 92, of Linn, Missouri, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Riverview Nursing Center. He was born in Osage County, Missouri on January 3, 1931; a son to the late Claron and Violet (Starr) McKague. On August 15, 1953, Joe was united in marriage to Vivian Boyce.

Joe joined and proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in October of 1952. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree and spent the majority of his career teaching school. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and water skiing. Above all, he was a loving husband to his “lucky and faithful” wife of nearly 70 years, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by those who know and love him.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughter, Kathryn Kay McKague; grandchildren, Michelle and Travis Smith; and sister, Patricia Gerloff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claron and Violet; and siblings, Larry McKague, Vernon McKague, and Jean Manes.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Mint Hill “Shirley” Cemetery.
