Madge Thacker Obituary

Madge Thacker, age 70, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at her home in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She was born December 7, 1947. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Curtis Mayes; daughter, Kelli Adkins; two brothers: Bill and Glen Mayes; three sisters: Betty O’dell, Trudy Powers, and Jewell Kelly. Madge is survived by son-in-law, Jerry Adkins; daughter, Krissy (Carl) Rains; four grandsons: Andrew (Noel), Alexander (Tristen) Adkins, Jonathan and Michael Rains; two great grandchildren: Eli and Barker Adkins; two sisters: Frankie Harris and Loretta Webb; three brothers: Rudy, Fred, and Scott Mayes; two special friends: Linda Roberts and April Enix; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Madge will be cremated and a service will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Pastor Preston Smith will be officiating with special singing by church members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Bluegrass Hospice; Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church, Gibson Station, VA; or Kelli Adkins Scholarship Fund at Lincoln Memorial University.
