<p>Greg L. Willis, age 65 of Greenville, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Memorials are asked to the Lemuel Rhodes Foundation.</p><p><br></p><p>Gregory Lee, the son of Arnold Bradley and Phyllis Ann (Bell) Willis, was born March 29, 1958, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. He grew up in Fairmont City during his elementary school years and then the family moved to Illiopolis, Illinois. Greg graduated from Illiopolis High School and went to work for Johnson’s Grocery Store. He worked for the Johnson family for over 40 years, starting there at the age of 16.</p><p><br></p><p>Greg and Amy Margaret Havener were united in marriage on June 1, 1980. They just celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Greg and Amy enjoyed taking a vacation together each year and loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed racing, boating, camping, and anything outdoor or yard work related. Greg enjoyed going out to dinner and spoiling his grand-puppies.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving is his wife, daughter Amanda Albers and husband Jacob of Aviston, Illinois, grand-puppies and his 4 siblings: Elwood Willis and wife Beverly, Steve Willis, Judith Ann Leith, and Dennis Willis.</p><p><br></p><p>Preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Phyllis, and brother-in-law Vincent Leith.</p><p><br></p>

Amy, we are very sad to read of Greg’s passing. Truly always a great guy, one didn’t go to the store (Johnson’s) without seeing Greg. He was so kind to help my grandmother in her later years as he was with all. Our sympathies.
