Blase McDougall was born in Pasco, Washington to Norman P. McDougall and Marjorie E. McDougall (Herndon) on September 25, 1943. Blase graduated from Grant High School in Portland and Clackamas Community College.Blase was married to Eila R. Raab in 1963 in Portland, Oregon and together they had Michelle R. Tranbarger (McDougall). In 1969 Blase married Kathleen S. Hardesty in Portland, Oregon and together they had Heather A. Asher (McDougall).
Blase served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer during the Viet Nam Era.He was a railroad brakeman for Union Pacific and retired as a fireman as a captain after 27 years in the City of Milwaukie Fire Department. Blase also was a businessman and inventor creating the company Sprinkler Stop Valve Company that he founded and owned for 25 years.
Blase was an artist and a member of Brush & Pallet Art and Painters Club. He was a member of the Milwaukie Elks Club. Blase was a lifelong fisherman since childhood. He skippered a fishing boat "Lucky Me" out of Depoe Bay, Oregon.
Blase was preceded in death by his brother Bruce McDougall of Portland, Oregon and parents Norman and Marjorie McDougall of Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his sisters Jean Navin of Oregon City, Oregon and Michalene Hutton of Kalispell, Montana. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
