JOYCE MARIE DEERING

83, of Cass City died Monday, June 5, 2023 in Timberline Lodge, Caro. She was born April 12, 1940 in Kinde to Ernest Felix and Bernice (Lenaway) Hebert. She married Raymond Conrad Deering on February 10, 1962 in St. Roch Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish of Caseville. He died December 14, 1989.

Joyce was a faithful follower of her Lord, and a member of the Catholic church, her entire life. She loved to play music and sing. Joyce wrote poems and songs to share with everyone. Along with her family and friends, she served as a Prayer Warrior. Over the years, Joyce cared for many children and family members. During the summers, she camped and had picnics. She enjoyed time around the campfire telling funny stories of her life and catching up. Joyce loved being with her family and friends, or talking on the phone so she wouldn’t lose touch. She always wore the biggest smile on her face, and on her heart, when the grandkids came to visit.

Joyce is survived by her children: Julee (Mark) LaPratt of Unionville, Dave (JoVal) Deering of Sebewaing, Chris Deering of Midland; grandchildren: Jenel (Johnny) Robinson of Akron, Michael (Chelsi) Linzner of Sebewaing, Brian LaPratt of Unionville, Marcus (Ashley) Deering of Sebewaing, Lillian Deering of Saginaw; seven great grandchildren; many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; many brothers and sisters. The Deering family would like to extend a special thank you to Timberline Lodge and to Heather and Cathy from A & D Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with

Deacon David Gillespie of Our Lady Consolata Parish, Cass City officiating Interment will be in New Bay Port Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be used for a donation to be determined at a later date.
