Niagara - Eugene D. “Geno” Lantagne, 81, of Niagara, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, peacefully at his home.

Geno was born on November 23, 1941, in Norway, MI., to the late Ernest and Josephine (Mandek) Lantagne. Following graduation from Niagara High School in 1960, Geno was employed at Kimberly Clark paper mill in Niagara and then retired from the Niagara Telephone Company after many years of service.

He was an awesome father and truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed spending his summers in Eagle River fishing and spending time with his extended families at Otter Lake and High Pines. Come fall; he was eager to hunt and spend time at camp. Some of his favorite pass times were coaching little league, umpiring men’s and women’s softball, golfing, playing cards, and spending time with friends. In the winter months, he enjoyed working on wood crafts for everyone to enjoy. He treasured his trips to Canada walleye fishing with his brother Roger and nephew Brad.

Geno is survived by his four sons, Dave (Jeanne) of Niagara, WI., Eugene Jr. (Danette) of Bozeman, MT, Douglas (Stacey) of Florence, WI., and Michael (HeidiMarie) of Vulcan, MI.; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roger (Julie) of Green Bay, WI., Richard (Annette) of Washington, and Robert (Karen) of Arizona; and special friend, Karen Peronto.

In addition to his parents, Geno was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Jr., Gerald, and Lawrence; sisters, Anita Mae, Judith Anne, and Mary Ellen; very special nephew, Brad Lantagne; and special friend, Karen Scheffler.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wisc. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wisc.
