Brian David Butterfield of Chelsea, age 58, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 29, 2023.

He was born October 15, 1964 in Jackson, Michigan the son of Roger and Mary (Watts) Butterfield. Brian was preceded by his mother and infant brother, Jeff.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Joy; son, Brandon; father, Roger Butterfield (Barb); sister, Brenda (Tim) Blough; nieces, Heather (David) Culbert, Niki Jarrett, Lauren (Andy) Clemons and Kaitlin (Jeremy) VanOrman; several great nieces and nephew.

Brian was a 1982 graduate of Grass Lake High School. He was a muscle car and 4-wheel drive truck enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Brandon and also watching him play soccer. Brian was larger than life and lived life to the fullest. He loved to camp with family and friends and host his 4th of July bashes.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 P.M. at Sherwood Funeral Home. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, June 5, 2023 at Sherwood Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck McNeil officiating.
