Sandy McCormick of Glenrock passed away Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

She was born in Natick, Massachusetts on Wednesday, August 14th, 1940, to Stuart James and Mary (Bitsoli) Dunbar.

Sandy loved Wyoming but never forgot her roots, she loved sharing stories of growing up in Massachusetts and family trips to The Cape Cod Canal. After moving to Wyoming, she met and married George Robert “Bob” McCormick on April 4th, 1973. They began their memorable journey of raising their family while extensively traveling the State Parks of Wyoming. Their passion of traveling led to many trips and adventures throughout the rest of the United States in their later years.

Sandy was a true lover of babies. If babies were present, you knew where she would be. Sandy was also an avid bird lover, if you were ever curious what “that” bird was, she was the one to go to.

She loved all her family dearly and was a proud Nana and Great Nana. Sandy will be missed as the family historian, wife, mother, sister, Nana, and Great Nana, and those titles she carried proudly.

She is survived by her husband, Bob McCormick of Glenrock; three children, Robin Cohrs of Douglas, Kris and Melanie Fenton of Deadwood South Dakota, and Doug and Paula Fenton of Douglas; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Helen and David Hescock, Jeanne Spill, Janice Armour, and Penny and Michael Doucette; and one brother, Steve (June) Dunbar.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald George Fenton Jr.; parents, Stuart and Mary; a brother William “Bill” Dunbar; and sister-in-law, Carol Dunbar.

A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
