December 24, 1938 – May 28, 2023

The family of Ruth Hipkiss, late of Regina, SK, sadly announce her passing on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the age of 84. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn her passing. Ruth had a courageous battle with multiple cancers. She passed peacefully with her husband, two sons, daughter, and granddaughter by her side, while her favourite hymns released her to heaven.

Ruth was born on December 24, 1938 on the family farm, near Salvador, SK. She was an ambassador for Christ in her actions and beliefs. Ruth always cared for those around her deeply and the patients she cared for. She attended school at Salvador, SK and then studied to be a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Saskatchewan Research Council in Saskatoon, SK. Ruth worked as a nurse in Saskatoon, Kindersley, Kelowna, and Regina. She ended her career at Wascana Rehabilitation Center, first working as a nurse then as a physical therapy rehabilitation attendant for 27 years until retiring in 2003.

Ruth and Lawrence were married for 63 years and had three children with whom she was proud of. Ruth’s passions were her love for Jesus, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her eyes would sparkle upon their arrival for a visit and soon she would be on the floor playing or running in the backyard with them. She was an incredible baker, afghan maker, gardener, and crib player.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, August and Herta Droste of Luseland, SK. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lawrence Hipkiss; her two sons, Dwayne Hipkiss (Debbie-nee Brown) and Mark Hipkiss; daughter Beverley Lane (Brian); grandchildren, Brittany Folk (Dallas), Austin Hipkiss (Élise), Megan Tremblay (Luc) and Brooklynn Lane; great-grandchildren, Logan, Lawson, and Ellis Folk, Hollan, Clara Fée and baby on the way (Hipkiss), and Henry and Aiden Tremblay; twin sister Margret Kornfeld (Melvin); brother-in-law Wayne Hipkiss; nephews and nieces, Bryan Kornfeld (Deb), Brenda Rehman (Mike) and Karen Grygus (Don); and her many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK, on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Service will be livestreamed.
