Bonnie J. Noyes, age 93 of Starbuck, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fron Lutheran Cemetery in rural Starbuck. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Bonnie June Ammerman, daughter of Earl and Martha (Johnson) Ammerman, was born on February 11, 1930, in the south central Minnesota town of Odin. She grew up on a farm near Odin, along with her older brother, LeRoy. Bonnie was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended church and school at Wilder. After high school, Bonnie worked various jobs in the service industry.

On September 9, 1946, Bonnie was united in marriage to Harry J. Wood in Jackson Co., MN. They made their home in Winnebago and were blessed with three children, Gary, Vickie, and Debra. Bonnie and Harry later divorced and on November 7, 1959, Bonnie married Arthur “Babe” C. Stolp of Milroy. Bonnie and Babe were blessed with one son, Dennis. Together the pair owned and operated Babe and Bonnie’s Bar in Milroy for several years. In 1976, they moved to the Alexandria area and in 1988 they settled in Starbuck. Bonnie and Babe shared 42 years of marriage before his death on February 25, 2002.

Following Babe’s death, Bonnie was blessed to find love once again when she met Robert L. Noyes of Starbuck. The two were united in marriage on October 18, 2003. They continued to reside in Starbuck after their wedding and shared 19 years of marriage before Bonnie’s death on May 30, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Bonnie will be remembered for her willingness to help others. She was known to always have the coffeepot on and visitors were frequently treated to a huge piece of her special cinnamon bread. She was an avid football fan and her favorite team was, of course, the MN Vikings. Her hobbies included gardening and fishing. She wasn’t afraid to do a little bragging about her fishing skills and enjoyed telling the story of how she landed a 6 (8) lb. walleye the very last day of the season. She enjoyed listening to music and singing along to her favorite songs. In her early years she loved to dance, was a member of a bowling league, golfed, and even once drove in the Powder Puff Stock Car Race in Redwood Falls. One summer, back in Milroy, Bonnie joined the construction crew that her husband, Arthur (Babe), worked on. She began as a flagger and moved up to driving a Steiger tractor towing a packer.

More than anything, Bonnie loved her families. She was blessed with a rich, full life. May her memory bring a smile to those who knew her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Robert L. Noyes of Starbuck; her children, Vickie (Terry) Ousky of New Prague; Debra (John “Jack”) Lupkes of Cottonwood, and Dennis “Russ” (Laura)  Stolp of Cyrus; daughter-in-law, Darlene Wood of Windom; Robert’s children, Randy (Meribeth), Ricky (Luz), Rodney Noyes, and Rhonda (Scott) Johnshoy, all of Starbuck; 16 grandchildren, Alan (Angie) Wood, Tammy Gipp, Kerri Burandt and Heather (Trent) Labat-Erickson, Jessica (Mark) Wilson, Doug (Kecia) Noyes, Kayla (Neil) Nelson, Jenny (McLean) Mohrman, Ashley Noyes, Shawn (Jackie) Noyes, Tony (Danessa) Noyes, Renee (Steve) Holland, Brittany (Mitch) Leonard, Brady and Tanner Johnshoy; and 29 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Gary Wood; and one grandson, Jamie Labat; her second husband, Arthur “Babe” Stolp; and her first husband, Harry J. Wood.
