It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Walsh, age 73 at his own home in Culls Harbour on May 30, 2023.

Predeceased by his parents Herbert & Josephine Walsh, sisters Betty Broderick (Dennis) and Marie Holloway (Freeman).

Leaving to mourn are his siblings Marjorie (Elihu), Shirley (Russell), John, Margaret, Herbert (Glayds), Wayne (Geraldine), Gerald (Marilyn), Linda (John), Glenn (Sandy), Neil, Debbie (Dan) and Pam (John). His many nieces and nephews, special friend Deone and a large circle of friends and family.

Joe was 16 years old when he stared work with Department of Fisheries. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and loved hunting and trouting.

He had a great sense of humor and he could in captive family and friends with his story telling and jokes and his ability to bake pies and squares was known by many.

He served and helped many people in the community with a small general store in Culls Harbour. He also played a crucial part in the fundraising of the new church.

After his father’s illness, Joe played a very supportive role in helping his mother until her passing.

Joe left his mark on his many nephews and nieces that came to visit their Nan and Grandfather Walsh in Culls Harbour.

Many memories will be treasured by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place.

Joseph’s family would like to welcome visitors on Thursday June 1, 2023 at Oram’s Funeral Home Glovertown from 7-9 pm.

Funeral Service will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Culls Harbour on Friday June 2, 2023 at 11 am.
