--Emily Stoller Family tribute

Emily Geneve Stoller, 63, died May 26, 2023, at her home in Indianapolis.

Emily was born March 26, 1960, in Grand Forks, ND, and at a young age moved with her family to Fargo, ND, where she attended Fargo High School.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from nearby Morehead State University. Emily spent most of her career in the television news industry, working as a photographer and weather presenter at TV stations in Fargo, ND, Wichita, Kansas, Denver, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona, before moving to Indiana in the late 1980s.  In Indianapolis she shot news stories and did weather forecasting for WISH (Channel 8) and later WRTV (Channel 6), as well as doing on-air weekend weather forecasting for CNN in Atlanta.

The cause of death is undetermined, but likely related to a benign brain tumor discovered and removed by surgery in 2008.  Emily battled a series of health problems in the fifteen years after that operation. At the time Emily was employed as a technical writer for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She later worked near her home in Woodruff Place for Marsh Supermarkets, the Needler Grocery Corporation and the downtown Kroger Supermarket, where she was employed at the end of her life.

Emily’s parents, Robert Roy Stoller and Geneve Ann Stoller preceded her in death. Emily is survived by three  sisters, Kathy Stoller, Mary (Paul) Caskey, Julianne (Kim Clausen) Stoller, a brother, Robert Stoller and her husband, Silas (Sy) Jenkins, a former news reporter who worked with Emily at WRTV.
