Tammy Marie Cunningham

CORINTH - Tammy Marie Cunningham, 62, wife of Larry Cunningham Sr., passed away after many years of battling multiple illnesses Friday evening, May 26, 2023, at a local hospital. She was born May 22, 1961, in Bangor, daughter of Roland and Irma (Adams) McClure.

Tammy met Larry, her husband and best friend in 1978 and the two were married in the summer of 1981. They were an unstoppable force. She spent many years working as a CNA in residential and elder care settings. Her passion in life was caring for others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including many trips with her sister, Wendy visiting their sisters in Virginia. She loved being surrounded by her family at all times, including many family gatherings. She especially loved caring for all the youngsters in the family including many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith and incredible strength and courage. She faced each day with a smile on her face and a determined heart. She inspired us all with her appreciation for life and her fighting spirit. She was a beautiful soul and fiercely protective of her family.

Tammy will be greatly missed by her husband of 41 years, Larry Cunningham Sr.; her children, Angela Nadeau, of Dixmont, Larry Cunningham Jr., of Greensboro, North Carolina, Troy McClure, of Dover-Foxcroft, Amy Jones, of Corinth and Tiffiney Cunningham, of Corinth; grandchildren, Dennis Nadeau Jr., Christina Nickerson, Kailey Tilley, Travis McClure, Tabitha McClure, Dillion Cunningham, Emily Jones, Jenna Cunningham, Ethan Lancaster, Tanner McClure, Ashton Lancaster, Alice Jo Spencer and Ivy Pinkham; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Myah and Kali Nickerson; brothers, William McClure and Roland McClure Jr. and their spouses; and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family. In addition to parents, Tammy was predeceased by her siblings, Gerald McClure, Betty Simpson, Willa “Becky” Poston, Harold McClure, Richard McClure, Larry McClure, Carol Perkins and Wendy Hall.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10-12 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor where a funeral service will be held immediately after. Interment will be in Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, following the service.
