Memorial service for Huston "Smokey" Gale White, 80, of Clayton, LA will be held at Ferriday First Baptist Church on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 9AM with Bro. Kevin Ulmer officiating. Interment will follow at White's Ridge Cemetery in Jonesville, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Smokey was born on Wednesday, October 21, 1942 in Jonesville, LA and passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Smokey retired from Entergy after 36 years. After retiring, he began working for Ferriday Police Department and later moved to Vidalia Police Department, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. Smokey was a loving husband, father, papa, uncle, and friend.

He is reunited with his parents, Wes White, Jr. and Myree Pruitt White; sister, Beverly Carter; and brother, Darrell White.

Those left to cherish Smokey's memories are his wife of 33 years, Kathy White; his children, Kelley Holmes, Phyllis White, Brent White & his wife Cheryl, and Haleigh McCarthy & her husband Chad II; brother, Wes Glen White & his wife Janice; grandchildren, Garrett Douglas, Drake Holmes, Taylor Hewitt & her husband JP, Tyler White, Ashley White, Barham White, Zachary White, Eli White, and Huston Kash McCarthy; great-granddaughter, Grayson Hewitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Honoring Smokey as a pallbearer will be Ben Blackmon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or charity of your choice in Memory of Huston "Smokey" White.

The family will receive friends at Ferriday First Baptist Church on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 6PM until 8PM.
