Alton Dillard, age 80, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Eileen Dillard; sisters Louise Dillard, Inez Dillard, Betty Stanley, and Joyce Webb; brother Gene Dillard. 

Alton was a veteran of the United States Air Force. 

He is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Suellen Dillard Green, and their sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth (Andrea) Dillard of Chatsworth and Doug (Christina) Dillard of Ringgold; sister and brother-in-law, Minnie (Avon) Hooker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Judy) Dillard, John (Linda) Dillard, Robert Dillard, Donald (Cindy) Dillard, Mike (Susan) Dillard; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Shelby (Zane) Thornton; Savannah (Justin) Guffey; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Clark officiating.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1:00pm till the funeral time at 3:00 p.m.

Burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023.
