Franklin D. Marshall, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Franklin D. Marshall, Jr. (Dale), age 60, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at his home.

Dale was born on February 24th, 1963 in Valley, Alabama to the late Bobbie R. Marshall and Frank Marshall. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Lee Marshall.

Dale was a man of simple pleasures, and he found great joy in the company of his family and friends. He loved to watch The Andy Griffith Show, and he was a staunch supporter of the Auburn Tigers, cheering them on with great fervor and enthusiasm. And when the world weighed heavy upon his shoulders, Dale would find solace in the majesty of "The Great Smoky Mountains," where he would lose himself in the beauty and wonder of nature.

In the course of his life, Dale was blessed with a family most dear to him. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Mary Kelley Marshall, who was ever his constant companion and truest friend. Together, they brought forth three children, whom they cherished above all else: their son, Anthony Marshall; their daughter, Tiffany (Cody) Parmer; and their daughter, Brittany (Jacob) Taylor. And from these children sprung six grandchildren, whom Dale held most dear: Sebastian Marshall, Cameron Kramer, Damien Kramer, Dahlia Kramer, Jameson Taylor, and Waylon Taylor. To these young souls, Dale was known as "Paw Paw," a title he wore with great pride and joy.

In addition to his family, Dale was blessed with a lifelong friend, Perry Daniel, who stood by his side through all the trials and tribulations of life. Together, they shared many a laugh and many a tear, and their bond of friendship shall remain unbroken, even in death.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The Reverend Rusty Letson officiating.  His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.
