Mildred Lucille Yates Simmons was born April 21, 1934 to the late Lester Sherman Yates and Margaret Faye Troglin Yates in McMinnville, TN and passed away May 27, 2023. Mildred was a loving mother to her children and loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the Van Buren County High School and was a daycare owner.

She was preceded in death by husband, Garland Wade Simmons Sr., son, Garland Wade Simmons Jr., daughter, Crystal Dawn Simmons, and son-in-law, Thaddeus Hall Jr.

She is survived by her children: Mildred Kathleen Hall, Brenda Joyce Wilson (Mike Brown), Linda Kay (Darrell) Sullivan, Glenda Faye (Dennis) Slatton, Lisa Iantha (Ricky) Walling, and William Keith Simmons.

Grandchildren: Harley (Kristy) Wilson, Zachary Sullivan (Susan), Sydney Sullivan, Adrian Sullivan, Danielle Dodson, Sabrina (Bill) Jennings, Wade (Brittany) Slatton, Haylon (Dakota) Slatton, Dallas Slatton (Terrie), Tyler (Brittany) Walling, Ryan Walling (Rae-Anna Hodges), Kyle (Jessica) Walling, Justin Walling, Alex (Erika) Simmons, and Hannah (Caleb) Browning.

Great-Grandchildren: Jaxson Wilson, Cohen Wilson, Dalton Sullivan, Ellana Sullivan, Payton Dodson, Madison Jennings, Penelopy Jennings, Natalie Jennings, Marley Slatton, Maverick Slatton, Camille Slatton, Briar Walling, Brooke Walling, Brantlee Simmons, Talan Simmons, Luke Simmons, Maxine Simmons, Emma Slatton, Liza Slatton, Millie Browning, and Ava Browning.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Spencer Funeral Home with William Shockley of Shockley Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Spencer Town Cemetery. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 9:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
