GLADYS ELLEN WALKER

83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday afternoon, May 18, 2023 at age 83. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandmother. A woman who loved well and was well-loved. Gladys was born on March 25,1940 in Peck, the second of five children born to Adolf and Helen Thom.

Gladys graduated from Peck High School in 1958. On November 13,1959, she married Dwight Walker. She worked at the pickle factory in Croswell, MI. She also helped Dwight with his family car business for many years and raised four children. In August of 2000, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to be closer to family. She had an active role in helping with her five grandchildren, each of whom loved her dearly. In 2009 and 2010, Gladys worked in Skagway, Alaska, during the summers in a souvenir shop. Gladys loved painting fine china, gardening, cooking, and spending summers in Michigan. Her life was built on her faith and love for God. She had a quiet, soft and kind nature that will always be remembered.

Gladys is survived by daughter René Walker of Phoenix, AZ; her sons: Todd (Tonya) Walker of Tempe, AZ; Dwight (Kathryn) Walker of Chandler, AZ.; grandchildren: Bailey (Andrew) Kloosterman of Boise, Idaho; Mackenzie (Joshua) Metherd of Idaho Falls; Liam Walker of Tempe, AZ; Riley Walker of Tempe, AZ; Landon (Elli) Walker of Gilbert, AZ. She is also survived by her great grandson, Emmett; Siblings: Phyllis (Darrie) Morris of Cresson, TX; Donnie (Lynne) Thom of Peck, MI; Sara (Tony) Pinto of Edgewater, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwight; son Anthony; sister, Iva.

Visitation for Gladys was held Monday, May 22, 2023 in Lakeshore Mortuary, Mesa, Arizona.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Duane Topinka and Bruce Shaw officiating. Interment in Almer Township Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to Compasses Hospice of Cass City.
