Urias Gbarjolo

Urias Gbarjolo passed away on May 28, 2023. 

Services were held on July 1, 2023. 

Visitation was at Life Chapel Church on 821 Arthur St. Des Moines, IA from 9am to 10am. A funeral service will followed at 10am at Life Chapel Church.

Urias Gbarjolo was born to Theresa and Alexander Gbarjolo on May10, 2022 in Ivory Coast, Africa.

Urias was educated through the West Des Moines Community School Distract and graduated from Valley High School. After high school, Urias attended college at the University of Dubuque. He majored in Administrative Business and Computers. Urias would have graduated next year with his degree.

Urias was a kind, quiet, soft-hearted, gentleman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and having fun. Urias was quite the athlete in high school and college! He was very involved in sports. He played football, basketball, and ran on the Men’s track team. During his first year of football, he went to the championships. During basketball season, Urias was one of the best players on the court. For the Men’s track team, he was the fasted in hurdle and 4 x 400. Urias was the fasted person out of Valley High School to beat the record and at State. As good as Urias was, he was able to become 2019—2020 State Champion.

Urias Gbarjolo passed away on May 10, 2023. Left to cherish him in loving memory are his parents, Alexander and Theresa Gbarjolo; siblings, Naomi B, Beauty B, Sebatian B, Jermiah B., Alexander Jr., Mercy B., Teddy B., Reagan B., Kevin B., and Frank B.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and friends.
