<p>Debra Johnson, 71, of North Smithfield, RI, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She died surrounded by her loving family.<br> <br> Deb was born in Providence, RI, in 1952 to Eleanor (Dunner) and Walter Pless. After working for AMICA Insurance company for 22 years, she went back to school and received her RN license from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2006. She worked, caring for seniors as a unit manager, and Director of Nurses at Tockwotton on the Waterfront before retiring in 2019.<br> <br> As a caring wife and mother, Deb enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren do the things they love the most. She also enjoyed online shopping, spending time by the ocean, and rooting for the New England Patriots.<br> <br> Deb is survived by her husband, Bruce Johnson, her two children, Erik Johnson of North Smithfield, RI, and Em Johnson of State College, PA, along with their spouses Rachel Johnson and Ian Hill.<br> <br> Deb was a proud and loving "Nana". She cherished her grandchildren Zachary and Noah who were the light of her life.<br> <br> Deb also leaves behind siblings Jan Crudele (Pless) of Bradenton, FL, James Pless of North Kingstown, and David Pless of Baltimore, MD.<br> <br> Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Rhode Island Hospital Cancer Center for their compassionate care. In addition, the family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Hospice for the care and comfort they provided during this difficult time.<br> <br> In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Harmony Hospice Rhode Island or Emanuel Lutheran Church, West Warwick, Rhode Island. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Debra Johnson, 71, of North Smithfield, RI, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She died surrounded by her loving family.

Deb was born in Providence, RI, in 1952 to Eleanor (Dunner) and Walter Pless.
