Auburn – Valerie G. Foresta, 79, of South Paris passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 3, 1944 the daughter of Ernest N. and Grace Robertson Hayes. She was the step-daughter of Barbara Hayes. She attended Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro, MA. and was a graduate of Dracut High School. She married Jerome Paul Foresta in 1965 and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Valerie had been employed as a manager at TD Bank for many years. Because of her social nature she developed lifelong friendships with coworkers and regular customers. She was creative and enjoyed crafting, ceramics, gardening and making personalized cards for her friends and family. She was a devout Catholic who looked forward to weekly mass and found great comfort in her faith. Most of all, Valerie was thoughtful, selfless and non judgemental. She put her family first and lived her life unapologetically. She will be remembered by many for her humor, warmth and generosity.

Valerie is survived by her husband Jerome; sons Jerry and wife Holly and Paul and wife Dannah; 5 grandchildren Willy, Cooper, Fifi, Caelyn, and Bella; and a brother Peter Hayes and wife Jan. She was predeceased by her grandson Grandin Hayes Foresta.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway followed by interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in South Paris. Family and friends may attend visitation on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
