Delores C. August, 88, of East Providence passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. She was the wife of the late Hardwell H. August. Born in Norfolk, VA she was a daughter of the late Willie and Sylvia (Bryant) Blount.

Mrs. August was a home health aide for several years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was fancy and sassy with a contagious smile. She was a wonderful person to be around who would always be there to help anyone in need. She will be missed by all who were blessed by her presence in their lives.

She leaves a daughter Deborah August-Rolle of Atlanta, Georgia, one son, Henry A. August of Wakefield, five grandchildren, Michelle King, Jeanette Simoes and her husband John, Nicole Riley, Jason August, Justin August, five great grandchildren, Alora Pearson, Jaiden Chandler, Andre Simoes Jordan and Blake Riley, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joanna L. King, and the grandmother of the late Devina Rolle.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 P.M.

Burial will be private.
