Dillon Carmichael, 25, died unexpectedly May 22, 2023, in Houlton. He was born March 10, 1998, in Presque Isle, the son of Barry Carmichael and Marie Shackel.

Dillon attended Houlton schools and graduated from the Carleton Project. Following graduation, he worked as a cook for Irving and other restaurants in the Houlton area. Dillon was a kind soul who had an ability to love everyone. He had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed hiking. Dillon tragically lost his life to his struggles with addiction. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dillon is survived by both of his parents; his brothers, Alex J. Carmichael, Jerry B. Botting, Joshua E. Hawksley, John A. Hawksley and stepbrother, Duke R. Gibson; parental grandmother, Vera Carmichael; maternal grandmother, Kathleen J. Doucette; many cousins, nephews and nieces; and will also be sadly missed by many friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Perley D. Carmichael; and also maternal grandfather, David Doucette.
