Irena Antonina Wrobel, age 93 of Bridgeport, loving wife of 35 years to the late Jan Wrobel passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023, with her family by her side. Born in Rzeszow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Bronislawa Bukala Rejman. Irena was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Bridgeport. She worked as a housekeeper in residential health care at the Roncali Center in Bridgeport.

Irena was a dedicated wife and mother and a proud citizen of Poland. She delighted in hosting guests at her table with generous portions of home-cooked Polish delicacies. She loved to Polka with her beloved Janek at White Eagles Club and St. Michael’s sponsored dances and festivities.

She leaves behind her son John Francis Wrobel, her grandchildren Mark Alexander and Christina Vivian and in Poland her niece Malgorzata Bialas and three great-nephews and their families. She is also preceded to her eternal reward by her sisters Krystyna Nowak and Jozefa Bialas and her half-brother Eugeniusz Rejman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport, followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7pm in the Frank Radozycki and Sons Funeral Home, 305 Pulaski St. Bridgeport, directly across from the church.
