Mary Jo Martin

Mary Jo Martin, went to be with her Heavenly father on Friday, May 26, 2023. The daughter of Robert Mitchell and Anna Arvilla (Enoch) Thomas, she was born on April 1, 1925 in Beaver Township, Cowley County, Kansas. She grew up attending Washington school and graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She married her sweetheart, Joe Martin on August 12, 1968, and together shared many years of marriage together, until his passing. This union of marriage, Joe was blessed with and welcomed Mary’s children with open arms and treated them as his own. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker to her family, she worked as a Matron at the Inyo County Jail for many years before her retirement. Mary was also a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, for 35 years. She will be held close to our hearts each day.

Husband, Joe Martin;

Son, Steven Walter Havens;

Siblings, Lila Click, Wallace Thomas and Betty ;

She leaves behind her loving family:

Children, Carolyn Scott, Eric Havens and Craig Havens;

Grandchildren, Steven Joseph Havens, Linda DiStefano, Nancy Bowen, Wanda Gammel, Dawn Donnelly and Teresa Cerda;

Numerous Great Grandchildren.
