Jim Robert Dawson

<p>Jim R. Dawson made his transition on January 15, 2014, born in Columbus Ohio to Willard and Mildred Dawson. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, later in the Coast Guard and also in the Army and Marines reserves. He graduated from Ohio State with a Mechanical Engineer Degree. He became an Ordained Unity Minister in 1974 and served as minister at the Unity Church in Austin from 1975 to 1981. He continued serving as a minister in several other churches across the U.S. until moving back to Austin. He was preceded in death by parents, Willard Dawson and Mildred Dawson; sisters, Dorothy Dawson, Bee Mannerstrom and Jean Sellers; brothers, Ed Dawson, Jack Dawson and Joe Dawson; daughters, Kathy Dawson and Lisa Dawson.Jim is survived by his wife Joyce Dawson; daughter Heather Emmick and Lee Emmick; daughter Holly Skeen and son-in-law Bill Skeen II; daughter, Danielle Dawson; three grandsons who he loved very much, Will Skeen III, Chris Emmick and Andrew Emmick; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his friend, Pat Frank, for her support and kindness to Jim.Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, TX. 4435 Frontier Trail Austin, TX 78745 (512) 443-1366</p>
