Robert Eifert, 74, of Kingsland, Texas passed away on July 4, 2014. He was born to Howard F. and Dorothy M. (Barlow) Eifert, on January 15, 1940 in Bloomfield, Nebraska. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years on the aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid as an aircraft mechanic. When he completed his service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic in Nebraska, along with selling Moorman's Feed and working as a farmhand in Decatur, Nebraska. On March 17, 1972 in Blair, Nebraska, he married Mary Stangel. They purchased Stangel's from Rudy Stangel in 1972 where they made truck covers until the business was sold in 1993. At that time, they moved to Kingsland, Texas where they started Eifert's Custom Covers. They sold that business in August of 2006 and officially retired. Mr. Eifert is survived by his daughter, Ellen Taylor and her husband Michael, of Fountain, Colorado, son Thomas Eifert and his wife Teresa, of Box Elder, South Dakota, three granddaughters, Karissa and Kalin Eifert, and Ashley Taylor, brothers, Don Eifert of Ft. Worth, Texas, Charles Eifert and his wife Cathy of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Jim Eifert and his wife Kathy, of Ponca, Nebraska, Eldon Eifert of Arkansas, Michael Eifert of Kerrville, Texas, sisters, Betty Graziano of Kerrville, Texas, Marilyn Eifert and her husband Dick Goins of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Carolyn Nolzes and her husband Douglas, of Stanton, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eifert, parents, Howard and Dorothy Eifert, a brother William (Bill) Eifert and his wife Melba. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Putnam Funeral Home Chapel. The Highland Lakes Honor Guard will assist in the ceremony.
