<p>Joel David Greenblatt died peacefully on May 25, 2023. Predeceased by parents, Louis &amp; Rose Greenblatt, wife, Shirley Greenblatt, son, Robert Greenblatt, and sister-in-law Marilyn Bailey. He is survived by his children, David Greenblatt &amp; Rick (Michelle) Greenblatt; daughter-in-law, Mary King; grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Drew, &amp; Adam Greenblatt; brothers, Sam (Judy) Greenblatt, Matt (Sally) Greenblatt; brother-in-law, Pete Bailey; nephews and nieces, John, Tom, Jennifer, Dan, Rachel, Dan, Miriam, and Ben. </p><p><br></p><p>Joel was born March 28, 1943, in Potsdam, NY to Louis and Rose Greenblatt. He grew up with his older brother, Sam, and younger brother Matt. Joel attended Rochester Business Institute. At RBI he met Shirley after noticing her on bus trips back to their respective homes. He finally got the nerve to ask her name and went on a date. Thereafter, in his words, they danced their lives away. Joel worked for Two Guys and McCurdy's until he decided to go into business himself. In 1970 Joel and his wife, Shirley, purchased and operated the Town Pump General Store for 9 years. From 1979 to today Joel and Shirley created and operated Town Pump Recycling. In his spare time, Joel enjoyed snowmobiling and swimming in the pool.</p><p><br></p><p>Joel's life story will be shared during his visitation, Wednesday, May 31st from 3-6 PM at the funeral home, 15 West Ave., Spencerport. His funeral service will be celebrated, Thursday, June 1st, 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Creekside Cemetery, Churchville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma Coty, OK 73123-1718 in Joel’s memory.</p>
