<p>Benjamin F. Burnett, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY.&nbsp; He was 75 years of age. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Son of Rayella Burnett and the late Warren Burnett, he was born on August 29, 1947 in Middletown, NY. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ben was retired from Orange and Rockland Utilities in Middletown where he was employed as an estimator. He graduated from Minisink Valley High School where he ran on the cross country team and held the school record for the mile. Ben proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970. He was a member and Deacon of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church.&nbsp; He loved Rock &amp; Roll, being outside, helping people and fixing things. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include: his mother, Rayella Burnett; his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth “Candy” Ketcham Burnett; his children, Troy Burnett and Keri Sharaf and her husband Ash; his grandchildren, Zak &amp; Zain Sharaf; his sisters, Susan Ciani and husband Frank, Linda Helgerman and husband Art, &amp; Sharon Lyons and husband Pepper; his sister-in-law, Cherie Rockow and husband Duane; brothers-in-law, Horace “Lucky” Ketcham and wife Barbara &amp; Frank Ketcham and wife Karen; many nieces &amp; nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Warren Burnett. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM Tuesday, May 30th at the Cornelius, Dodd &amp; Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 31st at the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 25 Main St., Otisville, NY. Reverend Jeffrey Farley will officiate. Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Interment of his cremains will be in the Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery in Otisville at a later date. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 628, Otisville, NY 10963 or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd &amp; Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.&nbsp; </p>

Benjamin F. Burnett, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY.  He was 75 years of age.

      Son of Rayella Burnett and the late Warren Burnett, he was born on August 29, 1947 in Middletown, NY.

      Ben was retired from Orange and Rockland Utilities in Middletown where he was employed as an estimator. He graduated from Minisink Valley High School where he ran on the cross country team and held the school record for the mile. Ben proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970.
