Barbara A. Stephany
<p>Barbara A. Stephany, 83, died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Frontida Liberty House in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born February 5, 1940, in Campbellsport, WI, to Joe and Dorothy (Johnson) Bauer. Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Campbellsport High School. On November 7, 1964, she married James A. Stephany at St. Matthew’s Church in Campbellsport.</p><p><br></p><p>Barbara spent many years as a legal secretary. Before dementia took its toll, she was a foster grandma to hundreds of children in the Fond du Lac school system, mainly at Waters Elementary; a job she loved, and the children and staff loved her back. Barbara enjoyed her card club and before Google, was the go-to person for all things trivia. She was also proud of the fact that she was a fan of Days of Our Lives from the very beginning.</p><p><br></p><p>Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Kristin (Dale) Weiher of Sheboygan, WI, Megan (Matt) Acheson and Melanie Bonnell, both of Fond du Lac; her two grandchildren, Keegan (Cynthia Lopez) Acheson of Bloomington, MN, and Kendalynn Acheson of Milwaukee, WI. Barbara is further survived by her sister Beth (Terry) Boschert of Brown Deer, WI. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Bauer; and a son-in-law, Nick Bonnell.</p><p><br></p><p>A time of visitation and support will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
