Robert J. Plenge of Oswego, NY, former resident of Roscoe, NY, a retired Financial Director, died Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the Oswego Hospital in Oswego, NY.  He was 66.  

The son of the late Charles H. and Dorothy T. (Short) Plenge, he was born September 6, 1956 in Amityville, NY.

Robert attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY earning an Accounting Degree.  He worked as a Financial Director for the County of Social Services in Sullivan, Orange, and Steuben.  He retired from Oswego County Social Services in 2015.  Robert worked for H&R Block for the last several years and enjoyed it very much.

Robert was a board member of Farnham Family Services and the Weston T. Hyde Foundation.  He was the past Secretary Treasurer for the Roscoe Kiwanis Club.  Robert was part of the Board of Directors and Officers of New York State Fiscal Administrators Association.

Survivors include his sister-in-law Mavis Plenge of Maine; his nephew Richard Plenge of Florida; and his dear friends Renee, Fran, and Mary Beth.  They always welcomed Bob and helped him as needed.

Robert was predeceased by his parents and his three brothers, William, Douglas, and Charles.

A special thanks to the staff on the 4th floor of the Oswego Hospital for their kind and compassionate care in Bob’s last days.

Graveside services and burial will be Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Livingston Manor, NY.  Father Antony David will officiate.
