Violet I. Baboila

<p>Vi Baboila, age 93, passed away on May 25th. She joins her husband George and daughter Marie around a kitchen table in heaven. Joining them are her sisters, Katherine (Richard) Percoco, Bettina and Ida (Ben) Spallino, two nieces as well as her parents Vito and Bettina Strongoli. Piled high on the table are lots of Italian foods along with grilled lamb and steaks.<br> Vi was a member of the 49'ers class of St. Vincent HS. After marrying and raising her children she returned to work at the Fazio bakery, retired then went on to work as a demonstrator for Giant Eagle until she was 86. She loved being social and many a customer would stop by to see her. The last 5 years she moved out of her home in Firestone Park, Akron and into senior living where she had bags of dimes always at the ready for card games.<br> She is survived by her sons, George (Nicole) and David (Rachelle), grandkids Ellen, David, and Zachary, their mothers and many wonderful nieces and nephews, great and great/great nieces &amp; nephews who were such a big part of her life. Special thanks to her friends and staff at Brier Creek and Green View.<br> Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
