Hollis R. McCoig
<p>Hollis R. McCoig, age 89 of Cosby, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home.</p><p><br></p><p>Hollis (Rudy) was a devoted Christian, and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Hollis always helped those in need and gave of himself proclaiming and praising the Lord through every storm. Hollis was a member of Huskey's Grove Methodist Church. Hollis (Rudy) was a veteran having served in the army in Alaska; and was employed by the National Park Service for 35 plus years.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Bonnie Huskey McCoig; his parents, Don and Estelena McCoig; brothers, J.C., Gary, and Stanley McCoig; sisters, Mildred McCoig, Doris Parton, Vida Ball, Bonnie Boling, and Freda Ball.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby McCoig; daughters, Sonya Trice and Eric Ingram, Holly McCoig and Josh Burnette; son and daughter in law, Roger and Michelle McCoig; grandchildren, Jacob McCoig, Matthew McCoig, and Sophia Burnette; and step-children, Tammy McGaha and Michelle and Mark Ogle.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Rudy’s honor.</p><p>Donations may be sent to: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends 12-1PM Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with service to follow at 1PM with Rev. Ted McCoig officiating. Immediately following the service, family and friends will leave in procession to Huskey's Grove cemetery for 2PM graveside and interment.
