Betty Kay Currier Silvey, born March 27, 1947, joined her departed loved ones July 15, 2014. Born to Hollye and Carl Currier in Austin, Texas at Brackenridge Hospital, she grew up with her four siblings: Alice, Paul, Charlotte, and Carol in Victoria and later in Austin, Texas. She married the love of her life, William F. Silvey and raised five children. She is survived by Timothy Wade Silvey, Kasey Salari, Shelly Grabe, Jody Wynn, Amy Kirby and many grandchildren: Alexis, Lauren, Misty, Morgan, Nicholas, Hayden, Colter, Peyton, Cameron, Harrison, Ethan, Nolan, and Brady, as well as her first great grandchild, Tristan and many nieces and nephews.Betty was a life-long South Austinite and sports fan. She loved the Texas Longhorns and New York Yankees. She loved to talk daily about sports and politics. Her quick, sharp wit and strong opinions made her a favorite conversationalist to everyone. She was a friend, confidant, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mother. Her friends and family will miss her terribly.In lieu of flowers please donate to Texas Oncology.
