Angelita Denges

<p>Our beloved, Angelita Denges, 69, of Austin, TX, passed away on June 6, 2020. </p><p>Angie was born and raised in Austin, TX. She graduated from Albert S. Johnston H.S. and went on to pursue a nursing degree at the Brackenridge School of Nursing. She was a pediatric nurse for 16 years, where she made several lifelong friends. Soon after, she met and married Donald R. Denges in 1972; they were married for 20 years. Together they raised a son, Eric D. Denges, and, gladly took on two daughters, Betty Rodriguez, and Laura Garcia, and instantly became a family of five. In 1993, Angie lost the love of her life to cancer and became a widow. She left her nursing career and worked for Kwik-Wash Laundry. </p><p>Angie was passionate about her family, friends and dear grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lyndsey, Tony, Scotty and her dearest Great-Grandson, Jordan Michael Hernandez. Angie held many titles but the one she was most proud of and treasured the most, was "Momo," and "Momo GiGi." She was Momo to everyone. Holiday gatherings or any type of gatherings, always welcomed in her home. She could whip up a meal in a matter of minutes. Cooking and baking was her favorite pastime, along with talking on the phone to her friends and family. She had a schedule of phone calls she would make or receive daily. Her calls included, Martha, Glenda, Josie, Cousin Edward and Brother-in-law Fred. </p><p>She is survived by her son, Eric Denges; daughters, Betty Rodriguez (Jeff), and Laura Garcia (Reuben); grandchildren, Jeffrey (Taylor), Lyndsey, Tony (Aimee), Scotty; her great-grandson, Jorden Michael Hernandez; and sister, Mary Alice Castillo (Fred).</p><p>A memorial service, in her honor, will be on June 27, 2020, at 1:00 pm, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745.</p><p>Harrell Funeral Home remains committed to the health of our community and following instructions from our local authorities. New gathering requirements are allowing more people to attend funeral services at one time. The number of guests permitted to gather is dependent on the capacity of the room where the service is occurring. The Austin Chapel can hold 100 guests at one time. All guests attending services are required to wear protective masks and practice social distancing etiquette. Also, we have increased cleaning protocols to make our home as safe as possible. Guests with compromised immune systems or feeling ill are asked to join services from the safety of their homes.</p>
