Robertson</p><p><br></p><p>Ted was a Hershey native born to the late Gerald &amp; Dorothy Robertson. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his only sister, Janet Fitterer Wagner of Ohio.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted received a degree in engineering from Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Army as a mechanical engineer and was a consultant at the Aberdeen proving grounds during the Korean Conflict. He retired as Assistant General Manager at the former Bethlehem Steel Plant in Steelton and also retired from the PA Department of Transportation.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted was an accomplished golfer. He started his golf career at the age of five when his grandfather gave him lessons. He was a former Harrisburg District Golf Champion and played against Arnold Palmer in a State Championship. While at Penn State, he played as the number one man on the golf team. He had an opportunity to turn professional but was drafted to serve in the Army. He was later inducted into the Penn State Hall of Fame.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted was club champion of both the Country Club of Harrisburg and the Colonial Country Club. He was active in organizing the local Junior Golf program and his joy was teaching his sons and grandsons to become good golfers. He served as past president of Aces, past campaign chairman of the Tri County United Way and served on the boards of the Urban League and the former Dauphin Deposit Suburban Bank and Swan Committee. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted is survived by his wife, Mary Lou “Mel” Robertson; sons: Brad (Mary Adele), David &nbsp;(Vickie), Steven &nbsp;(Cindy); grandchildren: Matt, Laura, Kevin, Derek, Ben, Nicky, Rachel, Andrew, Alex and Emily; great-granddaughters: Ava &amp; Ella and great-grandson, Owen.</p><p>Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at East Harrisburg Cemetery, 2260 Herr Street in Harrisburg. There will be no viewing or visitation.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania..
