<p>Douglas Bolt Pennington, age 80 of Loudon, passed peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Parkwest Medical Center. Doug was a US Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 120. He retired from Tennessee Asphalt after 27 years of service. Doug enjoyed the outdoors; he loved hunting, fishing and searching for arrowheads.</p><p><br></p><p>Doug is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Bolt Downs; father, Chase D. Pennington; grandparents, William and Effie Bolt; and brother, William “Sonny” Downs. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Murphy and Linda Pennington; daughter, Lola Pennington (Wes); step-sons, Michael, Bobby (Jennifer), and Scotty (Naw PaLay Wah); step-daughter, Virginia (Keith); 20 grandchildren; two brothers and one sister; former wife and special friend, Lois Farmer; several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Services to honor and remember Doug will be held 7 PM Tuesday, May 30th in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Lewis Garner officiating. A military service will be provided by the US Army and the Loudon County Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
