Gloria J. Boyer

Gloria J. Boyer, 90, of Messiah Lifeways and formerly of Camp Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. She retired as the Executive Secretary for George D. Boyer and Sons, Harrisburg; a member of West Shore Baptist Church, Camp Hill, and attended Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill; a member of Astro Chapter #380, Order Of The Eastern Star, Harrisburg; Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Areme Chapter #192, Harrisburg; a former president and member of the Harrisburg Civic Club; former member of American Business Women and was the recipient of the Woman of the Year award; former member of Soroptimist International of Harrisburg; former president of the PA Assn. of Plumbing Contractors Women's Auxiliary. Born in Harrisburg on December 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Lillian S. (Beck) Schubauer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert George Schubauer. Surviving are three sons, Dennis L. (Bonnie) of Camp Hill, George D. Boyer Jr. (Janet) of New Cumberland, and Jeffrey A. Sr. (Debbie) of Linglestown; a daughter, Cynthia K. Friend (Mitch) of Carlisle; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery, Susquehanna Twp. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
