Betty Jean Waggoner, age 82, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will take place at 2:00 PM in our Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Ephesus Baptist Cemetery in Forest, MS. Bro. Chris Harrison and Bro. Paul Smith will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Betty was born to Willie “Shine” Posey and Helen Christine Posey on November 6, 1940, in Forest, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County, MS. Betty was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Betty also enjoyed reading in her spare time. She will be dearly missed by many.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas “Tom Ed” Waggoner; parents, Willie “Shine” and Helen Christine Posey; sister, Elizabeth Posey Butler and a brother, Earl Posey. She is survived by her son, Allen Butler; daughter-in-law, Sandy Butler; five grandchildren, Natalie, Lauren, Ben, Caleb and Daniel; one great grandchild Brayden and many dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Clint Burkes, Greg Ware, Lamar Harrison, Tony Sanford, Chance Easterling, and Tommy Williams.
