<p>Ronald "Ron" Kirby, 79, of New Canton, IL, passed away at 10:00 PM, Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green, MO.</p><p><br></p><p>Private family services are being planned for a later date.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.</p><p><br></p><p>Ron was born February 24, 1944, in Belle City, MO to Wilburn Kirby and Ruby Ethel Rhodes Kirby.</p><p><br></p><p>He was first married to Judith Ray Irwin. She preceded him in death. He later married Carolyn Butler. She preceded him in death.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his three children, Julie Mason of Barry, IL, Jody Rennecker of Bowling Green, MO, and Rachel Scranton (Daniel) of Lebanon, IN; two brothers, Dean Kirby of Rockport, IL and Don Kirby of Rockport, IL; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and two stepsons, Ron Crossman and Rob Crossman.</p><p><br></p><p>Professionally, Ron worked as an over the road truck driver and later as a machine operator at Gardner Denver until his retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>Ron loved gardening, being outdoors fishing, barbecuing, and beef jerky. A talented pool player, Ron spent many years playing in a pool league. Above all, Ron cherished his time spent with his loved ones.</p>
