John Dunning, 1942-2023, died after a long struggle with dementia. He was a reporter at the Denver Post, then author of several books, including a novel about Denver in the 1920’s, a series of biblio-mysteries, and a comprehensive encyclopedia of old-time radio. He hosted a Sunday radio show playing recordings of those old programs on various Denver radio stations. John and his wife had a bookstore in east Denver selling used and antiquarian books from 1984 to 1994 and then continued the business on the internet. After a brain tumor in 2006 he lost his ability to write, but he continued to enjoy his family, friends, and books for many years. He is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Katie, son Jim, daughter-in-law Kassie, and grandson Jaymin.
