<p>It is with deep sorrow and with much love that we mourn the passing of Michael Shawn Southworth of Cincinnati, OH, on May 24, 2023, at the age of 55 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Michael was born July 24, 1967, in New Milford, CT, to Susanne Cass Southworth and Truxton Southworth. He graduated from Indian Hill High School and attended Ohio State University. He served in the Air Force for 8 years as an air traffic controller with postings in the following Air Force bases: Tyndall in Panama City, Ramstein in Germany, and King Salmon in Alaska. Most of his working life was spent at Panel Barn Inc., in Hamilton, OH, culminating in the position of Vice President and General Manager. Michael enjoyed spending time outdoors and had a passion for camping, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed going to the record store and searching for his favorite oldies on vinyl and texting with former Air Force buddies to whom he is still affectionately known as “Dutch”. Michael never met a stranger and will be remembered by all for his sense of humor and intense laughter.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his former wife and loving friend Michele Southworth, and their two children Colton and Brianna Southworth, all of Wichita, KS; his mother, Susanne Scott, and step-father, Robert Pearce, both of Marana, AZ; his father, Truxton and step-mother Linda, both of Palm Coast, FL; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Cass of Cornwall, CT; his sisters, Rebecca Scott of San Diego CA, Kate (Mark) Boos of Palm Coast, FL, Abby (Ethan) Walling of New Milford, CT, Beth (Don) Burr of Norwalk, CT, and Julia (Sean) Pfirrman of Cincinnati, OH; his brother Kevin (Michelle) Pearce of Cincinnati, OH; his honorary brother, devoted friend, and loving comrade Max Potter as well as many nieces and nephews. Finally, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in CT many of whom still remember him dearly as “Baby” Michael.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced via social media.</p>
