It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Nicole Alice Crow Shoe. Nicole passed away suddenly at the age of 28, on May 16, 2023, at home on the Piikani Nation.

Nicole was born on July 8, 1994, in Pincher Creek, Alberta to proud parents April and Roland Big Weasel. Nicole grew up on the Piikani Nation reserve where she attended Piikani Secondary School, until Grade 10. She was a talented athlete. While attending high school Nicole played basketball, and in her free time slow pitch. Nicole loved to travel whether it was to a tournament, or a basketball game, she could be seen on the sidelines cheering on her teammates or cracking jokes.

Nicole was an avid concert go-er and enjoyed having good company and live music. Some of the many concerts Nicole went to included, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, The Weeknd, Ice Cube, Rihanna, and Five Finger Death Punch.

Nicole's first baby was a small, loving shih tzu named Bebe, who would follow her everywhere, and surely is missing Nicole as are the rest of us.

In 2015, Nicole welcomed her first-born daughter Sakora, a year later Draya, and then her beautiful son Javier who made the family complete. Nicole was a loving mother and great homemaker. She did everything she could for her children whether it be celebrating a holiday or a birthday. Nicole adored her kids and tried her best to make a memorable and special childhood for each of them.

Nicole will forever be missed by her three children Sakora , Draya, Javior; parents: April and Roland Big Weasel; her siblings: Mitchell Crow Shoe and Ashlee Crow Shoe; Grandfather Aloysius Crow Shoe; Uncles: Walden Big Weasel, Ryan Big Weasel, and Joseph Crow Shoe; Aunties: Charlotte Big Weasel, Victoria Crow Shoe, and Rachel Crow Flag.

Nicole was predeceased on her maternal side: Uncle Darren Crow Shoe; aunties Carla Provost and Camilia Big Weasel; grandma Danitry Crow Shoe; great-grandparents Arthur and Joan of Arc Crow Shoe. On her paternal side: grandparents Cecilia Big Weasel and Harvey Yellow Face; great-grandparents Ester and George Big Weasel.

Nicole had a large extended family who loved her very much. We apologize if we have missed anyone.
