<p>DAWNA M. SMITH - NEWBURGH</p><p><br></p><p>Dawna M. Smith, 61, passed away unexpectedly May 15, 2023. She was born August 14, 1961, the daughter of M. Myron and Phyllis D. (St. Louis) Smith.</p><p><br></p><p>Dawna grew up in Newburgh and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Hampden Academy and Beal College. While raising her children she stayed at home, running a daycare and working as bookkeeper for family businesses, D &amp; M Family Restaurant and Smith's Dairy Farm. When her children were older, she returned to work as a payroll processor for Irving Oil and FairPoint/Consolidated Communications.</p><p><br></p><p>Dawna was very proud of her family. She enjoyed riding up on the hill and over to the farm with her grandchildren on her side-by-side, playing cards with her sister, Dianne and friends, going to camp, and cheering on her grandchildren in their various school and sporting events. </p><p><br></p><p>Dawna “Nana” is survived by her beloved children, Megan Mayhew and her husband, Christopher, of Unity, Darren Robinson and his wife, Nicole, of Newburgh, and Lauren Hartigan and her husband, Jacob, of Hampden; and six beautiful grandchildren, Grace, Weston, Landon, Levi, Oliver, and Amelia. </p><p><br></p><p>There will be a private service. Interment will be at Knowlton Cemetery, Newburgh. </p><p><br></p><p>Gifts in memory of Dawna may be sent to BUM League, 351 Palmer Road, Thorndike, ME 04986 and Hampden Recreation Department, 106 Western Avenue, Hampden, ME 04444.</p>

Dawna M. Smith, 61, passed away unexpectedly May 15, 2023. She was born August 14, 1961, the daughter of M. Myron and Phyllis D. (St. Louis) Smith.
