Maynard Eugene Fogg Obituary

ROCKLAND - Maynard Fogg passed away peacefully of heart failure at Mass General Hospital on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, with his twin sister and brother in-law by his side.

Maynard was born in Rockland on March 13, 1967. He started work as a young boy throughout the neighborhood mowing lawns, shoveling snow and raking blueberries, he also worked at the Strand Theater. After graduating from Georges Valley High School Maynard worked for the Samoset Resort, he volunteered for the Rockland Fire Department, and worked at several paving jobs for Russell Fish and Paterson Paving. Maynard worked for several people in the mid coast area including Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gilmore at the Claddagh Motel and the miniature golf course owned by Dick Libby in Rockport. He painted several homes in the area and did handyman jobs for many people. Maynard was a hard worker and was thought of highly by the people that he worked for.

Maynard made friends easily and once he got to know you he always remembered you. Maynard had many friends in the mid coast area, Vernard who was like a brother, whom he volunteered with during the Lobster Festival, and had coffee with on many evenings. Maynard had two special neighbors, Nate and Michelle, who helped with his yard and watched over him. There is a special Uncle Robert Flanders that Maynard went to the races with and went on rides with, looking for wildlife. Maynard looked forward to his late afternoon stop at Circle K for coffee and socializing with friends and relatives. Maynard also enjoyed going to ball games with his Uncle Robert to watch his uncle’s grandchildren play ball.

Maynard had two cats that he loved very much named Lilli and Whipette, who will be joining him as per his wishes.

Maynard was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Adelaide and Clarence Flanders; his mom Joyce Flanders Fogg; his dad Gilbert Fogg; a brother David Fogg; a sister Francis Warren; a sister in-law Patty Fogg; a brother in-law David Pease; and two nephews, Craig and Jason.

Maynard is survived by his sisters, Brenda Firth and her husband Jack of South Thomaston, Debra Pease of Union; brothers, Guy Fogg and his wife Pam of Cushing, Albert Fogg and wife Norma of Holden, Robert Fogg of Livermore; his twin sister Margaret and her husband Stan Sarnacki of Swanville, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins that he adored.

Maynard loved to hunt and fish and spent many hours hunting with his brother-in-law Stan at his sisters and brother-in-law’s property in Swanville.

Maynard’s family would like to thank all of the EMT’s, nurses, and doctors, at Pen Bay Medical, Maine Medical Center, and Mass General in Boston that helped Maynard through his difficult journey with heart failure. We could not ask for better care or compassion during Maynard’s ordeal. Maynard’s faith in God and positive attitude helped sustain him through his journey.
