<p>ELLA MAE BRISTOW</p><p></p><p>With great sadness the family of Ella Mae Bristow announces her passing on May 17, 2023. Ella died peacefully in her home in Eastend, SK. Ella Mae was born in Winnipeg, MB on March 16, 1940.</p><p></p><p>Ella grew up with her parents Clarence and Ethel Cudmore on their farm in Cannington, SK. She attended school in Cannington (going back and forth on horseback) and then attended High School in Winnipeg. Following this, Ella took a business course in Regina and worked for Medical Arts and Oral Arts Denturist. Ella met her life partner Duane in Regina and they were married on May 20, 1961 in the free Methodist Church at Cannington Manor. Duane’s work with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool provided the opportunity to live in a couple of different communities within Saskatchewan, but they returned to Regina in 1972. Ella and Duane raised 3 children. Over the years Ella enjoyed volunteering with churches, being a Sunday School teacher, a Jaycette, bowling and craft classes (of which quilting and rug hooking were favourites), fostering babies waiting for adoption, and volunteering at the Regina General Hospital with TLC for sick babies whose parents couldn’t be there. In 1983, Ella &amp; Duane purchased a cottage in Lac La Ronge and spent many a memorable summer there. Ella and Duane travelled to many places in Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. In 2008 Ella and Duane moved to Eastend. Ella’s volunteerism continued with Eastend UCW, Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre Auxillary and Victoria’s Quilts Canada.</p><p></p><p>Ella is survived by her husband of 62 years Roy Duane Bristow, her son Kevin Bristow and Anne (Davis), 3 grandchildren Thomas Bristow (Kaity Letwiniuk), Simon Bristow (Sage Gowan), Abby Bristow (Grady Rowley), daughter Katherine Bristow, and son Stephen Bristow and Susan. Also god daughter Jackie (Morvik) Johnson.</p><p><br></p><p>Ella is predeceased by her parents Clarence and Ethel Cudmore, adopted brother Ken Raine, and cousins Mildred, Ken and Iva.</p><p></p><p>The friendships (and mischief!) of the La Ronge and Eastend gangs are greatly appreciated.</p><p></p><p>A Service of Celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Eastend United Church with Funeral Celebrant Bernadette Schneider officiating.. There will be no graveside service. Private scattering of Ella’s ashes will be at a later date. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre or Eastend United Church in care of Binkley’s Funeral Service at 1-877-BINKLEY.
