<p>Mary Louise (Engen) Vollum died on May 16, 2023 at home in Saco, MT. with her husband Vernon Sr. by her side. Mary was born in Fairview, MT on July 31, 1945 to Alf and Phyllis (Vickers) Engen. The fourth of five children, she was raised in Fairview Montana. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1963, Mary married Vernon Vollum Sr in Cartwright, ND on July 6, 1963.&nbsp; To this union three children were born. Sheila, Sharon and Vernon Jr. </p><p>Mary worked hard all her life and held various jobs in various locations.&nbsp;She especially enjoyed learning meat processing and the 20+ years she worked at Hi Line Packing in Malta. She owned and operated the Circle V Café in Saco for many years and made many friends while working as a clerk at Western Drug in Glasgow. All her family and friends knew of her love of collecting rocks, any rock with a funny shape or interesting color found its way into her pockets.&nbsp;She also picked up any coins she saw along the road of life and slipped them into her shoes for luck. </p><p>Mary enjoyed reading, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, playing games and bingo. One of her greatest joys was beating her son in law Levi at any game they played. One of her favorite things to do was dress up on Halloween, especially if she was able to be unrecognized. In the 70’s Mary and Vernon were active in the Jaycees in Malta. </p><p>Flower and vegetable gardening and canning the produce from her garden were a great pride to her. She enjoyed sharing the produce she raised with everyone. Mary excelled at crocheting heirloom dresses for her Granddaughters and Great Granddaughters. She loved the many and various canine companions they raised or adopted over the years. Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and sisters. </p><p>Mary is survived by her husband Vernon Sr., daughters Sheila (Levi) Doll,&nbsp; Sharon (Allen) Young and Vernon Jr., grandchildren Lesley (Jay) Larson, Nathan (LouVon) Doll,&nbsp; Trinity Raymond, Nicole (Jameson) Fercho,&nbsp; Allen (Jasmine) Young, Jesse (Kayla) Young, Vernon (Taylor) Vollum III, and Vanessa Vollum, &nbsp;great-grandchildren Violet and Liberty Larson, Venorium Plante,&nbsp; Ryder, Renzey, Raegyn, and Rivyr Raymond, Jaydon, Jourdyn, Jenyr, Journeigh and Jalaine Fercho, Kaelyn, Kinley and Kruz Young, Beckett and Zander Young, Viola Vollum and Kyle Harley.&nbsp; Her sisters Evelyn Falkenhagen and Elsie Lorenz, her sisters in law Glenda Engen and Shirley Engen, her brothers in law Kermit (Wanda) Lee, Joe (Diana) Lee and Jerry Lee, thirteen nephews and eight nieces and many cousins, She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Remy Raymond, her parents Alf and Phyllis Engen, her brothers Robert and Harold and her In-Laws Kermit and Violet Lee, her sisters in law Terry Slater and Barbara Lee, brother in law Dave Falkenhagen, two nieces and a nephew </p>
