Betty Porter, 90 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Shattuck. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.<br /><br />Betty Rae (Nickel) Porter was born on December 16, 1932 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Harry and Lula (Gertz) Nickel. Betty grew up in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School. She was united in marriage to Earl M. Porter on December 31, 1951 in Arnett, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Arnett before moving to Broken Arrow, Coffeyville, Kansas from 1964 until 2008, Bartlesville and later Woodward. Betty worked for Dr. Terry Thompson as a Receptionist for 25 years. <br /><br />She was a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shine. She loved traveling, bowling and being with her grandkids, who she loved very much.<br /><br />She is survived by one son Rodney Porter and wife Janett of Skiatook; one daughter Judie Parsons and husband Kent of Woodward; grandchildren: Casey Porter, Dustin and Kandea Wilson, Jamie and Dwight Greer, Kylie Johnson, Michael and Samantha Engel, Dillon and Abigail Engel, Kevin and Kayla Parsons, Jared and Trent Parsons, Kris and Kaitlin Parsons; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Gary Patton; sister-in-law Robbie Nickel; other relatives and friends.<br /><br />Betty was preceded in death by her father, Harry Nickel, mother Lula Nickel, husband Earl M. Porter, mother-in-law Zula Porter, father-in-law Earl M. Porter, Sr., sister-in-law Addie Patton, son, Michael Porter, daughter Christie Engel, great-grandson, Landon Johnson, brothers, Mervin Nickel and wife Clara, Bill Nickel, sisters, Mary Linzy and husband Herman, Donna Wahl and husband Frank.<br />
